Churna is a mixture of powdered herbs and or minerals used in Ayurvedic medicine. Triphala is an example of a classic Ayurvedic formula, used for thousands of years that is made from the powders of three fruits Amalaki, Haritaki and Bibhitak.
Churna/ Powder
Churna in general is fine powder of dry herb, which is filtered through a clean stainless steel sieve or cloth. Dry powders have better shelf life than liquid. On the basis of number and nature of ingredients there are two types of churna
1. Single herb powders- These contains only one ingredient. Example-
